The IBG exists to promote intelligence in buildings, and the benefits that this brings to the investors, owners, occupiers and other real estate stakeholders. It does this by assisting its members in learning about new and better methods of designing, building and operating, methods that are more efficient in terms of how they are built, what they are built of, energy consumption both in their building materials and in their operating costs and how they are managed, a generally hollistic approach to the built environment. Looking at things in a joined up way, just the way that owners and occupiers have to.
IBG covers the materials and techniques of intelligent building, the systems that assist a building to be intelligent in helping to control its operation and its inputs. IBG has links to centres of learning such as Imperial College and the University of Reading's, MSc in Intelligent Buildings.
IBG policy is set by an executive team, consisting of persons invited to contribute to it's future policy and direction. The Executive meets periodically to review and improve the services we offer our Associate Members and to plan future events. The members of the current Executive can be seen, click here at this link.
