The IBG mission is to capture and disseminate information and promote active engagement in the Intelligent Building arena. Awareness of the topic has increased significantly in recent years, but is poorly understood with a disconnected approach to benchmarking and performance criteria. IBG promotes a clear, unified and cohesive approach to intelligent building in it’s true context relevant to every facet of the property and real estate industries, on both the demand and supply sides.
The property industry involves a diverse range of participants with vastly different criteria. This involves investors, promoters, consultants, delivery agents, manufacturers, and operation. Intelligent buildings need to be relevant to every facet of the industry to have real currency and demonstrate hard business case logic.
Other countries have begun to address the issue by introducing rating criteria for intelligent buildings. IBG is actively involved n this process.
Intelligent Building is the responsible and intelligent thing to do, embracing sustainability, energy effficiency, smart technologies and techniques allowing more and better to be delivered for less. Understanding what it means and how it can be adopted and implemented is integral to IBG cause.
